Summer dresses are versatile pieces. The variety of colors and prints are endless. With the right summer dress you can dress it up or down. You can wear them for a day at the park, brunch, at the beach or an evening out. Finding the perfect style that fits your body might be the toughest part. Knowing your body type while shopping is key, it will help you shop faster and avoid wasting time ordering items online or trying on pieces in the store, that you know don’t look good on you.
For years I had insecurities on what I felt comfortable wearing. I now consider myself an expert. I’ve gotten to know my body very well. I have an hourglass figure and big bust. Therefore, dresses that gently flare from the waist down help highlight my curves instead of making me look heavy. I also tend to go for v-neck cuts, they are very flattering. It draws the eye vertically rather than horizontally, making me look leaner.
Here are some of the new dresses that I’ve bought lately. Not only do I like how they look, I also love how inexpensive they are. Finding good steals is my favorite thing to do. I normally spend between $20 – $40 on most seasonal pieces. I call it Dollar Cost Averaging, that way I can justify buying an expensive pair of shoes. My husband doesn’t understand. He doesn’t see that I’m saving money. LOL
I love the color and the Bat Sleeves on this dress. You can find it at Target.
Wrap dresses are another plus for my body type. They accentuate the waist. Also found this one at Target!
This is my favorite one! Can’t wait to wear this dress on a beach vacation. This is what I call resort wear. I found this on Amazon.
