About the Wine
Duckhorn Vineyards, has been making this Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc since 1982, the year I was born… coincidence? LOL Harvested from their estates and select Napa Valley vineyards, this rich and elegant Sauvignon Blanc was blended with Sémillon to add depth and complexity. Fermented and aged using both stainless steel and French oak, it offers ripe citrus and tropical flavors, refreshing acidity and Sémillon-driven silkiness.
Tasting Notes
This vibrant Sauvignon Blanc begins with enticing aromas of lemongrass, lychee, passionfruit, melon and pineapple, followed by hints of white nectarine and lime. On the juicy palate, a subtle viscosity is perfectly balanced by refreshing acidity that adds precision to the citrus and tropical fruit flavors, while driving the wine to a bright, zesty finish.
Food Pairings
The parings for this wine are endless, but here are my absolute favorites:
Shellfish – You name it… Oysters, Scallops, Shrimp, Crab Legs and my favorite, Jalapeno Yellow-Tail Sashimi.
Cioppino – This wine retains its bright acidity and marries well with a tomato rich dish like Cioppino (also known as a seafood stew).
Green Pozole – This traditional Mexican spicy chicken stew with hominy and amazing flavors of tomatillos, poblanos and jalapeños, is ideal with this Sauvignon Blanc.

The Wine Down
I love a good Sauvignon Blanc, and this one from Duckhorn Vineyards is consistently great. It’s also a perfect wine for summer. They also sell this Sauvignon Blanc in have half bottles… for those of you who are underachievers. 😂
You can find this bottle for $25 – $30.
