About the Wine
The Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay is 100% estate sourced Chardonnay from Santa Barbara. It’s aged 7 months in 76% French oak, 28% new, with the balance in American oak. This Chardonnay is sur lie aged with lees stirred twice monthly to integrate the fruit and oak, and lend a creamy mouthfeel to balance the wine’s bright minerality.
Tasting Notes
Lush tropical fruit, lemon, lime and floral notes intertwines with nice minerality from the calciferous soils in the Santa Maria and Los Alamos Valleys. There is a touch of floral notes from the small amounts of Dijon and Rued clones, and a hint of vanilla and spice to round out the rich, long finish.
Food Pairings
This Chardonnay is perfect for summer days. I love it with crab cakes, grilled salmon or a roasted pork loin with seasonal vegetables.
The Wine Down
The Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay is a delicious and affordable option. This wine is consistently good and will never disappoint. If you’re ever in Sonoma County, make sure to stop by to visit the winery. No trip to Wine Country is complete without visiting the Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate and Gardens.
You can find this bottle for $17 – $22.
