About the Wine
Ladera Vineyards is located in the Howell Mountain appellation of the Napa Valley. The winery was originally built in 1886 and is listed in the official book of ghost wineries of Napa Valley. This Ladera classic is sourced exclusively from Howell Mountain, ranging from 1,600 to 1,800 feet in elevation. A combination of the high elevation, the red, volcanic and mineral rich soils allows the fruit to achieve full physiological ripeness, producing ripe flavorful wines with great structure and exceptional aging potential.
Tasting Notes
The 2014 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon reveals a deep, garnet color with an intense bouquet of ripe blackberry, maraschino liqueur, and charred wood. As the wine aerates, intriguing notes of baking spice, dark chocolate, and bay leaf are revealed. The flavorful palate is concentrated yet elegant, layered with black fruits and fine structured tannins that extend to a long refreshing finish. Upon release, decant this beauty before serving to unlock all it has to offer.

Food Pairings
Ribeye is the juiciest, most flavorful cut of steak. Therefore, this Cabernet is the perfect pairing as the tannins will help cut through the juiciness and fattiness of this amazing steak.
The Wine Down
The 2014 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the best Ladera has to offer and delivers the full expression of its mountain origins. Comprised of the most promising lots of the vintage, the grapes were hand sorted, gently de-stemmed without crushing and cold soaked for 7 days to extract maximum fruit characteristics. The wine was aged in 100% new premium French oak for 22 months before the final blend was assembled.

You can find this bottle for $155.00. Trust me when I say, it’s worth every penny.
