About the Wine
Orin Swift Cellars is a brand known as much for its creative and evocative expression of art on the front of the bottle as it is the bold, yet finessed styling within the bottle. Palermo is a quintessential Napa Cabernet Sauvignon that comprises fruit from all over the valley, from the floor to the higher elevations and everything in between. Fruit was sourced from many Napa Valley vineyards including Sun Lake, Heitz, Cypress and Stagecoach. The label on this Cabernet features a photo of mummified 16th-century Cardinal in Palermo, Italy. The photo’s sense of power, reverence and dignity is reflective of how their winemaker crafts Cabernet.
Palemo was aged for 12 months in French & American Oak, 39 % new. ALC/VOL 15.5%
Winemaker Notes
A dark crimson with a blue band, the nose presents immediate aromas of boysenberry, currants, graphite, cedar, fir ash and vanilla. Seamless on the entry with resounding energy, the mid-palate features lush blackberry and bing cherry as well as a hint of sweet red licorice. Long, complex tannins punctuate the finish with an elegant and tapering note of black tea.
