Cabernet Sauvignon undoubtedly dominates Napa Valley today. Sequoia Grove is a family-owned winery located in Rutherford, Napa Valley. They create a world-class Cabernet Sauvignon and other Napa Valley wines that emphasize elegance, finesse, structure and balance.
Winemaker Notes
This classically rich Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is dark in color with aromas of bright black cherry and blackberry, followed by baking spices and a hint of chocolate. On the palate, this Cabernet Sauvignon offers intense flavors of blackberry with round and smooth tannins, with subtle notes of toasted vanilla.
Food Pairings
This is a versatile food wine. It pairs well with any red meat on the grill, pork tenderloin, heavy cheeses and grilled vegetables.
The Wine Down
The quality of this wine is outstanding. The palate is layered and rich, with a silky long finish. This Cabernet is ready to drink now, however I’m holding the other bottles for a few more years.
You can find this bottle for $40 which is very well priced. Similar wines cost 30 – 40% more.
If you’re ever in Napa Valley make sure to visit Sequoia Grove, they have a historic tasting barn that was built in 1908.
