The Best Wines to Serve on Thanksgiving

The Best Wines to Serve on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is much more than a big meal with family and friends. It’s a time to reflect on, and be thankful for all of the good things we have. This year there is so much to be thankful for. On a holiday like Thanksgiving, you may find it extremely difficult to find the perfect wine to serve with your dinner. Rather than trying to pair the wine with one dish, opt for bottles that complement a wide variety of foods.

2018 Cline Sonoma County Pinot Noir and Chicken Tinga Tacos

2018 Cline Sonoma County Pinot Noir and Chicken Tinga Tacos

This Pinot Noir makes an ideal companion to my Chicken Tinga taco recipe. Chicken Tinga is a Mexican dish from Puebla made from shredded chicken cooked in a smoky tomato sauce. Because of the rich spices used in this dish like cumin, tomatoes and chipotle peppers, you want to make sure you choose a wine that is medium bodied, dry, oaked with high acidity to balance out the flavors.

2018 Belle Glos Las Alturas Pinot Noir

2018 Belle Glos Las Alturas Pinot Noir

The Spanish term ‘Las Alturas’ means ‘the heights’, a fitting name for the Belle Glos vineyard located on one of the highest grape-growing benches in the Santa Lucia Highlands. At this elevation, the sunny but very cool climate creates a wine bearing all the hallmarks of this coastal region: robust, expressive, full bodied, and balanced by a firm acidity.

2017 Eternally Silenced

2017 Eternally Silenced

Eternally Silenced is the second vintage of Pinot Noir produced by the Prisoner Wine Company. The design of this bottle will definitely leave you speechless. The label is definitely on the dark side, but this is not unusual coming from this winery. The label which was designed by the winemaker is amazing to say the least.
